Terms & Conditions

1. Booking & Payment

  • A 50% deposit is required to secure your reservation.

  • Full payment must be made prior to check-in.

  • Accepted payment methods: EFT, card (Visa/Mastercard), or secure online gateway.

  • Bookings are confirmed only upon receipt of proof of payment.

2. Cancellation Policy

  • 30+ days before arrival: Full refund (less R200 admin fee).

  • 15–30 days before arrival: 50% cancellation fee.

  • Less than 15 days before arrival: 100% cancellation fee.

  • All cancellations must be submitted in writing via email.

  • No refunds for early departures or no-shows.

3. Check-In & Check-Out

  • Check-in: From 14:00

  • Check-out: By 10:00

  • Late check-outs may incur additional charges unless pre-arranged.

4. House Rules

  • No smoking indoors.

  • No loud music or disruptive behavior—respect for neighbors is essential.

  • Maximum occupancy must be adhered to, including children.

  • No pets allowed unless pre-approved.

  • Guests are responsible for keeping the unit clean and tidy during their stay.

5. Liability & Indemnity

  • Guests enter the premises at their own risk.

  • Nautilus Sands, its owners, and staff are not liable for loss, theft, injury, or damage to personal property.

  • Any damage to the property or contents must be reported immediately.

  • Guests will be held liable for any intentional or negligent damage.

6. Privacy & Data Protection

  • Personal data collected during booking is used solely for reservation and communication purposes.

  • We comply with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

  • Data will not be shared with third parties except for legal or operational requirements.

7. Force Majeure

  • Nautilus Sands is not liable for cancellations or disruptions caused by events beyond our control, including natural disasters, pandemics, or government restrictions.

8. Amendments

  • These Terms and Conditions may be updated periodically.

  • Guests are encouraged to review the latest version before booking.

Terms & Conditions - the basics

Having said that, Terms and Conditions (“T&C”) are a set of legally binding terms defined by you, as the owner of this website. The T&C set forth the legal boundaries governing the activities of the website visitors, or your customers, while they visit or engage with this website. The T&C are meant to establish the legal relationship between the site visitors and you as the website owner. 

 

T&C should be defined according to the specific needs and nature of each website. For example, a website offering products to customers in e-commerce transactions requires T&C that are different from the T&C of a website only providing information (like a blog, a landing page, and so on).     

 

T&C provide you as the website owner the ability to protect yourself from potential legal exposure, but this may differ from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, so make sure to receive local legal advice if you are trying to protect yourself from legal exposure.

What to include in the T&C document

Generally speaking, T&C often address these types of issues: Who is allowed to use the website; the possible payment methods; a declaration that the website owner may change his or her offering in the future; the types of warranties the website owner gives his or her customers; a reference to issues of intellectual property or copyrights, where relevant; the website owner’s right to suspend or cancel a member’s account; and much, much more.
